Our area is approximately half way between New York and Florida. Many people are relocating from New York and nearby states, as well as from Florida. Union County offers homes in all price ranges and every style, and is one of the fastest growing areas in our region.

Based on all data from the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association, average sales prices in July 2009 decreased 7.7% over July of 2008 and decreased 2.6% over June of 2009.

ZIP Codes: 28110, 28112, 28079, 28173, 28104, 28174, 28103

Approximate Location Boundaries: Bounded to the North by Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Stanly Counties; to the east by Anson Count; to the Southeast by Chesterfield County, to the Southwest and West by Lancaster County and South Carolina; and Northwest by Mecklenburg County.

Location Characteristics: Union County now rates 15th among the nation's fastest-growing counties. Charlotte's outer belt I-485 has opened Union County to more growth because of quicker accessibility to Charlotte, the airport and major roads. New subdivisions are springing up throughout the County in all price ranges. A 50-acre mixed use development has been approved for construction across from across from the Indian Trail Town Hall. This project will provide many with employment and inevitably boost the county's economy. According the our local newspaper, The Charlotte Observer, a new development, Cureton Town Center, "has the potential to become a landmark in Waxhaw, a small town perhaps most recognized for the antique shops clustered in its quaint downtown along the railroad tracks." Cureton will be a 450-acre community of 740 single-family homes and townhomes mixed with a 435,000 square-foot town center and 60,000 square feet of offices. It will eventually become an east-west connector linking US 529 in south Mecklenburg to Monroe. Sun City - a retirement community - is also under construction and only a short distance away to the west. Union county's public school's rank among the top in performance in the region, and has just been designated to receive a $13.7 million budget increase, to inable the system to keep up with the area's increased development.

About Joye Baucom, CRS, GRI, ABR, e-PRO:
Actually being a native, I offer a wide perspective of the area and its appeal. I have been listing and selling real estate since 1980 and am associated with one of the most prominent and successful residential real estate firms in the Charlotte region. I share Dan and John's passion for service, integrity, and going the extra mile for clients and customers. They have provided a family atmosphere where relationships and old-fashioned values are tremendously important. I share their commitment to superior service and value the relationship and support as it translates into working with every seller or buyer.

I embraced the internet technology for serving our real estate needs and became an e-PRO, a technology certification held by about l% of all Realtors worldwide. With on-line home tours, you can virtually see more homes and I can link you to MLS and a system to alert you by e-mail when new homes suiting your needs come on the market or reduce their price.

My husband Don and I have lived in Charlotte since 1960. Charlotte afforded us every opportunity to establish our careers, raise our family, and enjoy life to the fullest. Many people seek retirement destinations but I feel Charlotte has it all.
