Lexington has a lot of homes offered for sale in all price ranges, some are in neighborhoods with community pools and some without, some are on Lake Murray and others have acreage. Many new developments popping up throughout Lexington and so are new stores. Among stores that openend last year are Target Home Depot is open. A new Wal-Mart is now open along with several other stores off Highway 6 and Platt Springs Rd

Highway 6 across the dam going though Lexington is being widened through Lexington at this point around Nazareth and Platt Spings, so expect delays there.

Because Lexington has a lot of land available many new developments are everywhere in all price ranges, mostly off Exit 51 and Barr Rd and Longs Pond. Building new homes and developments makes it more affordable, it is a little further out and lots of land available. Some people like to place a mobile home or modular home on some land (acreage) and enjoy the space. There are many neighborhoods to choose from in all price ranges. Some have larger lots, some are all brick communities, some have community pools and other amenities, and Horse property is also available. There are stables for boarding a horse and lessons.
I-20 is accessible and I-26 going towards West Columbia.
Lexington is one of the fasted growing communities and has a small downtown area with some stores and restaurants.

Not every real estate market is the same.

All real estate markets are unique and influenced by local demand, local land-use and building rules, and a host of other factors one cannot see from the generalized scope of national news coverage.

Please contact us for more details for buying or selling real estate.
It is a great time to purchase a home with the interest still. It is not too late to collect $8.000 after closing from your taxes if you can close by 6/30/10. You have to have a contract in place no later than 4/30/2010 to qualify. The same applied for MOVE-UP Buyers. They may qualify up to $6,500 for the same time frame. We have lender contacts that work also with a credit scores 620.

Please contact us for assistance whether you are buying, selling or need our services for both.
We look forward to hear from you and to assist you now or in the future.
Thank you,

Rosemarie & Kirstin

ZIP Codes: 29073, 29072

Approximate Location Boundaries: Minutes off I-20, Lake Murray, Town of Gilbert, West Columbia, Cayce,Pine Ridge, South Congaree, I-26

Location Characteristics: Lexington is located approximately 10 miles west of Columbuia. It is considered the fastest growing area in Columbia and SC. It is growing in all areas quickly, developments and businesses, but not so with major streets to eliminate traffic jams. So it is facing major traffic problems because of it. Downtown has a newer court house, tree lined main street, nice small town atmosphere. Most of your shopping however is along Hwy 378 and still most stores and restaurants are opening there along Hwy 378 on the way to I-26 towards the Lexington Hospital and airport.
Hwy 378 is lined with new businesses left and right, Target, several Wal-marts (1 on Hwy 378 and Hwy 6, 1 off Hwy 6 & Platt Spings) and lots of new residential developments off I-20 and other areas. US#1 enjoys the same developments, just not as fast, so is Hwy 6. There are many more homes on the market to chose from. I broke the statistics down below for you beause there are so many homes for sale and have sold they exceed the limit of the search. Check with us on the latest new subdivision and available existing home sales. We can assist with a new home purchase, build a home and also existing homes for sale. Eiyher way we have assisted many buyers and seller since 1993.

Lexington Leisure Center provides family fitness and recreation for residents. Call 803-957-7828 and find out what what they offer to meet your needsfrom sports to crafts.

US News reported recently (per The State Paper 9/30/09) that Columbia is in the 10 best affordable places to retire to. They said that "Retirees want a more diverse set of opportunities and they can find that in a university town".
US News said it "thought out places with low cost of living and reasonable housing prices that still offered access to the services and amenities that people should look for in an ideal retirement spot"
