South Arlington, like most of the Dallas - Fort Worth area, has experienced relatively stable home prices during challenging economic times. Since prices never surged during the housing boom, they have not fallen much, either. Home sales have increased 15.8% overall in Arlington during the first 3 months of 2012, compared to a year ago. The most significant statistic is that the supply of homes has dropped 34.4% since 2011. Prices are trending upward in most areas, too, about 3.4% higher than last year.Typical selling prices between $90,000 - $250,000, with an average of around $150,000, Interest rates have remained at historic lows at or below 4.0% for a 30 year loan, 3.25% or less for 15 year loans. Due to low interest rates and reduced prices, home affordability is at an all-time high. ZIP Codes: 76001, 76002, 76017, 76018

Approximate Location Boundaries: South of I-20

Location Characteristics: Most of South Arlington offers newer homes, less than 20 years old. A large part of this area, south of Sublett Road, feeds into the Mansfield ISD schools, which are generally considered to be the most desirable in the region.

In addition to good schools, South Arlington is easily accessible to major highways, shopping, lakes and recreation areas. Some of the entertainment venues include Six Flags Amusement Park, Texas Rangers ballpark, Joe Pool Lake, and the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium, all of which are in Arlington.
