In 2009, there were 53 sales in Windcrest, the average sale being $160,700. These were on the market for 110 days.
Sixty homes were sold in 2010 at an average sales price of $167,840. The days on the market averaged 104 days.
In 2011, 61 homes sold at an average price of $156,786, and average days on market was 105.

So far in 2012, 26 homes have sold at an average price of $157,468 after being on the market for 85 days. There are 32 homes for sale and 13 under contract.

Interest rates are at a 30-year low right now! With good employment and a good credit score, a rate of 3.8% or less can be found for conventional and government loans, providing buyer has good credit and employment history. Approximate Location Boundaries: Hwy 35 on the west, mostly north of Walzem road (FM 1976), mostly south of Crestway. The area extends about 2 miles to the east, bordering there by many subdivisions within Baxar County.

Location Characteristics: Windcrest is a small city in the northeast part of San Antonio, celebrating its 50th year in 2010. It is a pleasant suburban community of about 5,100 residents who enjoy the unique small town atmosphere. Homes built here in the 1960's and 1970's are generally large ranch-style homes on large lots. The neigborhood is characterized by quiet, tree-lined streets. City services here are very good, and the Windcrest Golf Club is top-notch. The city is noted for the residents participating to a large degree in the annual Christmas decorating of their homes. The city has recently acquired additional area to the southeast to accomodate a new computer information company called Rackspace. Wincrest schools are North East Independant School District, a highly regarded school district in the state. Brook Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, downtown San Antonio and Randolph Air Force Base are all easily accessible via Hwy 35 South or North. Also, Loop 410 joins Hwy 35 at Windcrest for easy travel all over San Antonio.
