Manassas City has seen an increase in home values since the low of 2009. A little slower to recover than some other Western Prince William towns, it is on a healthy swing upward in its local real estate. A plethora of foreclosues and short sales has made the recovery in the City of Manassas a little slower. Those numbers are beginning to decline. Manassas is considered one of the most affordable areas in Northern Virginia for real estate.

The City of Manassas is an old, historic town most well known for two major Civil War Battles. It boasts an historic downtown area with shops, restaurants and commerce. The Virginia Railway Expres (VRE) station is located within the heart of downtown. Antebellum style homes reside along Grant Avenue. While newer developments, such as Sumner Lake, reside near Prince William Hospital. The City of Manassas has its own school system separate from Prince William County. It boasts a mall, Splashdown Water Park, Manassas Civil War Battlefield and other attractions.
