Tempe is about 13 miles from downtown Phoenix and bordered by it to the west, Scottsdale to the north, Mesa to the east and Chandler to the south, accessible via Interstate 10, U.S. Highway 60 and Loop 202.
Tempe is part of the Kyrene School District, Tempe Elementary School District, and the Tempe Union High School District.
