With the real estate boom of 2005/2006 those same lots were selling for over $30,000. No one has a crystal ball, but I believe that in the long term land will increase as growth continues. Citrus County has several major projects that are awaiting approval and funding including the 26 mile extension of the Suncoast Parkway, the addition of two nuclear power plants at the north-western part of Citrus County or right over the county line into Levy County, residential growth and recreational destination complexes that are planned along the Withlacoochee River and the Gulf of Mexico, all bordering Citrus County. None of these projects are certain be approved, but my guess is that if even half of them are approved, it will be a boon to real estate values in Citrus County in General and to Citrus Springs in specific.
