The following statistics are for Schaumburg attached and detached single family homes through October 20 2011.
Compared to this time last year, the Schaumburg market sales are relatively flat, down just 3.9% (505 sales YTD in 2011 vs 526 sales for the year at this time in 2010). Prices however are down 12.9% compared to last year ($179,512 average sale price in 2011 vs $206,249 in 2010).
There are still far more homes on the market than buyers but it does seem to be leveling out and becoming more of a balance.
Interest rates are at or below 4%, historical lows!! That coupled with lower prices makes this the best time in history to be a buyer.

Location Characteristics: Outstanding schools, an impressive park district, convenient access to transportation, and endless retail options make the city of Schaumburg a great place to live. The Schaumburg Park District is made up of the Spring Valley Nature Sanctuary, an indoor family aquatic center, five swimming pools, three community fitness centers, two gymnasiums, two golf courses, 53 outdoor athletic fields, and 47 playgrounds!
