Year end sales data from 01/01/2011 to 12/31/2011 shows a slight increase in numbers for the Carmel area. The average sales price of a property sold in Carmel for 2011 was $312,542. The highest sale price was $2,360,000. The lowest was a property for $37,500. The average days on market was 97 up slightly from 85 in 2010. The sales price to list price was 95.73%. There were 1,325 homes sold in the Carmel area in 2011.

Location Characteristics: Carmel is a city in Hamilton County, Indiana, United States located immediately north of Indianapolis, Indiana. The population was 79,191 at the 2010 census.
As of the census of 2000, there were 37,733 people, 13,597 households, and 10,564 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,118.4 people per square mile. There were 14,107 housing units at an average density of 792.0/sq mi. The city of Carmel has been recognized with numerous awards and ratings for its programs and services.

Carmel voted #14 best place to live by CNN Money Magazine. Carmel Utilities received water quality awards from the Indiana Department of Health.
City's annual Arbor Day program won International Society of Arborculture's highest award - the Gold Leaf Award. The Keystone Parkway project received an Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Excellence.

The U.S. Conference of Mayors awarded the "Climate Protection Award" to Carmel for its roundabout program and other environmental initiatives.
The League of American Bicyclists designated Carmel a Bicycle Friendly Community at the bronze level — an award presented to communities with remarkable commitments to bicycling.

Carmel Schools were rated in the top ten for Americans best schools for your housing dollars by Forbes.

Carmel recently completed construction of Carmel Monon Community Center as well as $118 million concert hall "The Palladium" at the Center for Performing Arts.

The Palladium at the Center for Performing Arts is 1,600-seat, 151,000 sf state-of-the-art concert hall located in Carmel, Indiana.

The Palladium opened on January 29, 2011 and today serves as a venue for various local and world-renowned musical concerts and performances. The four-fronted, symmetrical design of The Palladium, massed around the domed central space of the 'single room' concert hall was inspired by Andrea Palladio's Villa Capra, "La Rotonda" (1566). The Palladium is based upon the traditional 'shoe box' shape concert hall with high ceilings and massive, sound-reflecting walls. The facility also features a limestone façade and moveable panels that can adjust the acoustics of the main hall.
