The market in Frontenac is changing to a buyer's market in some price ranges. Houses are taking longer to sell. There are a couple of newer housing additions in town & some rural subdivisions available. Some price ranges offer more houses to look at than others. Check out the interest rates! Now is a GREAT time to buy: nice selection of houses & low interest rates! If you're a first time homebuyer, be sure to find out about the $8,000 tax credit available. Don't be the person who says, "Darn, I should have bought a house and took advantage of that tax credit!" The date for the tax credit has been extended into 2010. Also there is a tax credit for home buyers who have lived in their home for at least 5 years ($6,500). Call for details. Location Characteristics: WHY NOT LIVE IN FRONTENAC? Frontenac is a small, growing community just north of the Pittsburg city limits(see Pittsburg for available features close-by). It is a great place to live & raise a family or retire. The 3-A school is of major importance to the community which is evident by the continual construction to make it larger & better & more up-to-date. The community also supports the school & the Frontenac Education Foundation through donations & fundraisers(Festa Italiana). Raider pride is evident. Many of the older people never miss a game. Besides sporting events, there are a lot of other activities available to residents: music, theater, fishing, golf, craft fairs, rodeos, hunting, bicycling, hikes, shopping, parades, celebrations, and more. The proximity to Pittsburg & Pittsburg State University increases possible activities.
