Everybody has jumped off the fence! All the offices in town are scrambling to keep up with the buyer demand. Buyers are coming into town to snap up the "deals" while interest rates are low. Many of the homes are not distressed sales as we only have about a 6% foreclosure market overall. Mesquite appeals to the "Baby Boomers" so we were not hit by the investors as bad as Vegas was. Most of the foreclosures sell fairly quickly but they have brought down our market prices on conventional sales so it is a great opportunity to be a buyer! Mesquite is a highly desirable location and I believe will be one of the first to recover from the economy.
Another economic boost will be the Desert Falls Sports Complex which is scheduled to be completed by 2011. It is a large amateur sports complex. The only other place like it is in Minnesota. The Minnesota complex draws 3 million visitors a year. We are very excited about how this will stimulate our economy and the housing market.
The friendly small town atmosphere and beautiful environment keep people wanting to live here, whether for vacation, retirement or year round!
ZIP Code: 89027 Approximate Location Boundaries: Arizona border, Lincoln County border , Mormon Mesa & Virgin River
Location Characteristics: Mesquite is unlike any other place in Nevada, we have been called the "New Palm Springs" many times. The city itself is beautiful, our streets are landscaped, 6 world class golf courses are hidden in the rugged hills, including Wolf Creek. Wolf Creek is the back drop for the new Tiger Woods video game! What an honor! We have 10,000 ft rugged mountains to the east and south and a beautiful flat top mesa to the west. Our valley is green because of the river that flows through it originating in Zion Canyon. Mesquite offers tremendous amenities, 3 resort casinos provide plenty of gaming activities, spas & restaurants. There are many shopping areas & restaurants throughout town. We have a beautiful hospital & lots of Dr. offices. Recreational opportunities are amazing from the walking trail and recreation center in town to trails out of town and a short ride to 5 National Parks. Several lakes, including Lake Mead are a short drive away. The I-15 Freeway makes Vegas a short trip away and provides easy access to Utah, Idaho, Colorado and California. If you are thinking about Nevada, then you MUST see Mesquite, with a population of just under 20,000 there is nothing like it! You will love it!
