Sales in New London have increased but the average selling price has decreased. Fortunately NH has not experienced the dramatic market declines seen in such states as FL and AZ for example. The Lake Sunapee region is diversified enough so that it continues to attract retirees, vacation home buyers, and families that need to relocate to the area.

Here is the comparison for January to October 1, 2009 to the same time period in 2008:

January 1 to October 1, 2008 - 25 Sold, 201 Average Days on Market, 91% List to Sell Variance, $11.8 Million Total Sales, $474,900 Avg. Selling Price

January1 to October 1, 2009 - 38 Sold, 216 Average Days on Market, 89% List to Sell Variance, $15 Million Total Sales, $390,242 Avg. Selling Price

Statistics were derived from the NNEREN MLS.

ZIP Code: 03257

Location Characteristics: New London is the quintessential New England town with it's town common and bandstand and historic homes lining Main St. The town offers many amenities such as quaint stores, great restaurants, a local hospital, and a small shopping center. With easy access to Hwy I-89, one can easily drive north to the Hanover area or south to Concord or Manchester and points south. New London is home to Colby-Sawyer College as well. With lots of lakes, hiking trails, golf courses, and Mt. Sunapee Ski Resort in the area, there is plenty of outdoor recreation to enjoy.

About Donna Forest, ABR:
I am a Broker Associate in both New Hampshire & Utah and have been in the profession since 1994. I have lived from coast to coast, so moving is a familiar situation for me. For buyers, I check new listings daily to see if the right home came on. My priority is to help you be successful in finding the right property to purchase. For sellers, I can help you sell in your specific time frame and provide you with a "Right Price Analysis". I use an extensive network of reliable resources from lenders to attorneys to home inspectors to assist you throughout the buying or selling process.
