As we enter the Fall 2009 Columbia County Real Estate market, there seems to be a few more buyers around than in previous months. The inventory of properties offered for sale still remains relatively high, although we have noticed a slight increase in sales.
Because of good lending practices on the part of local banks, forclosure rates in the county remain relatively low and have not adversely effected property prices.
On the other hand, price reductions for properties that have been on the market for awhile, seem to have stimulated a renewed interest from potential second-home buyers coming from the New York City metropolitan area.
Now is a good time for Buyers to make their purchase as the interest rates are relatively low and the market is turning into less of a Buyer's Market than previous moinths.
There are some very good deals on the market today, both in terms of residential properties, weekend vacation homes, parcels of vacant land and investment properties as well.
As sales start to pick up, however, the buyer advantage could change.
