Oct '09: According to the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association statistics, the average home sales price for may was $196,204. The average sales price was down by 10.5% over the same period last year.
October sales totaled 2,210 out of approximately 23,914 listings, so it is taking about 11 months for the inventory to turn over. Home sales have picked up due to the new $8,000 federal tax credit available to first-time homebuyers.
