Until just recently Grove City's growth has kept the real estate market stats looking pretty good. The first 10 months of 2009, however, is starting to show even Grove City is being impacted. Closings for the first 10 months of the year are down 9.1% compared to the same period in 2008 and the average sale price is down 9.7%
For 2008 average sale prices were virtually unchanged (down 1%) with the same period a year ago. Closing activity was also unchanged.
Buyers and sellers today will find both opportunities and difficulty in the marketplace today depending on the location and price range. Sellers that have owned their property 5 or more years are in the best position to make a move and benefit from today's great rates which are around 5% on a 30 year fixed mortgage.
