As all the lights start appearing all over the neighborhoods and thoughts of extravagant, good foods shared with family and friends start swirling around in our heads it always leads to one thing. SLOW real estate market. Too many heads are occupied with too many other thoughts. Now, with that said it has been surprisingly busy. Thanksgiving weekend alone I had two offers on my desk! People seem to have a renewed optimisim and are jumping on the first time and the MOVE UP home buyers tax credits. Those combined with incredibly low interst rates and slightly lower prices just might make this a really busy holiday season! Anyway at the moment it looks good! According to Yahoo the Corvallis area is one of the 10 most stable priced cities in the nation! It is interesting to note that according to another recent article in US News that Corvalllis is poised to be one of the more healty centers of appreciation in the nation in the next 10 years. Not sure what that is based on but we are glad to hear it! Because we seem to have remained one of the more sound communities economically our market never crumbled like many parts of the country even though things have slowed some.
Record setting interest rates and still abundant lending sources are setting this up to be a great time to buy even though the path to the end is rougher. People who 'buck the trend" and do the opposite of the masses often score big in these kinds of times.
