Congress has extended & expanded the Homebuyer Tax Credit. The 1st-time buyer credit of $8000 is extended for purchases until April 30, 2010 with settlement to be on or before 7/1/10. Income limits have also been increased for buyers. There is a new provision for a credit of $6500 for current homeowners, ones who owned a principal residence consecutively for 5 of last 8 years.
