Approximate Location Boundaries: East Side of Providence

Location Characteristics: Providence Revitalization! Water Fires, Best Restaurants & More ..."The Renaissance City"

The revitalization of Providence has been a tremendous success! The City has a lot to offer and is home to the launching of Water Fires, Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, The Wheeler School, Moses Brown and Lincoln School.

The restaurants are many, a new shopping mall, a stones throw away from the infamous "Federal Hill" and "Thayer Street" and the diverse cultural activities are many.

GTECH Corporation broke ground at the corner of Francis Street and Memorial Blvd for its new world headquarters in Providence. 10 stories high, the ground floor will be rented to restaurants and retail shops. Four floors will be office space and condominiums.

Many Luxury Condominium projects are underway. the Westin, Waterplace Park and more.

In Providence, one witnesses the artful blend of the past and present--rich in architectural, educational, and social significance. Atop the magnificent white marble State House, the bronze "Independent Man" champions the cause for which Providence was founded--religious liberty and individual freedom. The fine, restored 18th century homes along Benefit Street are only a short stroll from Brown University, the seventh oldest American college. The first Baptist Church in America, a national historic landmark built in 1775, and the Arcade, the nation's first enclosed shopping mall are only part of this living story. While a more recent architectural gem is includes the Rhode Island School of Design, founded in 1877 and recognized as one of the nation's foremost art schools.

The East Side of Providence overlooks the city and housing demand is high. Prices are higher compared to other areas of the city due to its proximity to the Universities, cultural events, historical sites, and wonderful architecture.

Commuters to and from the Boston area seek permanent housing in Providence due to its central location, commuter trains airport access, and pricing. Rentals are strong and housing demand is high.

My daughter attended the Wheeler School and highly regarded private school, so I am very familiar with the East Side of Providence and all it has to offer.
