Beaufort County continues to grow. We are experiencing and influx of retirees into our area. By last count there are about 13 new developments, offering gated and non-gated community living. If you are looking for new construction, we have it. There are golf homes, large estate-sized lots, water-front, lake front, and of course wooded communities. Prices are reasonable and the builders are offering strong price incentives. We have a new real estate tax structure which will reduced permanent owner's RE taxes by 40%! We already were a low tax state, now we will be even lower.

Location Characteristics: Beaufort County is a very large county with beach, marsh, and wooded areas. It is part of the "Treasured Coast" of South Carolina which runs from Charleston to Savannah. We cherish our beautiful marshes, sea islands, beaches and woodlands and the life styles it affords. Beaufort County is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States as "the yankees" are moving in and escaping the mean northern winters. (sic: Just like me!)
