Like all housing markets, the Tri Cities contains their own share of unrealistic sellers, who are still pricing their homes as if the downturn did not happen here. The good news is I can introduce you to all those homeowners, who are really serious about selling in this strong Buyer's Market. Combine that with Tennessee's favorable tax status, lower cost of living, quality medical care, and the fact that the Tri Cities is located within 5 hours of major metropolitan areas and one understands why a majority of my real estate business consists of assisting relocating buyer clients to our lovely four season temperate climate.
The upcoming seasonal events such as, Nascar Races,Apple Festival, Rhythym and Roots, Jonesborough Days, Fun Fest and Virginia Highlands Festival assures an annual pilgrimage by those who would love to relocate to the area and also those that will be introduced to it for the first time.
Since I am a native of North East TN, then I can effectively share the history of the area and all those positive and negative items a buyer will want know as they consider their housing hoptions.
The Tri Cities has come through the "housing crisis" with a better prognosis then most markets. Simply because our area did not have huge run ups in pricing as compared to other markets when the correction came it did not cause the spiraling downward dominoe effect.
Buyers have began to look again in earnest and make purchases in a steady up-tick since the summer. With fantastic fall weather upon us I expect this to continue. Winter will break the seasonal slide around the holidays but in an unpredictable market we may find ourselves with a festive surprise!
