Mansfield, like most of the Dallas - Fort Worth area, has experienced relatively stable home prices during challenging economic times. Since prices never surged during the housing boom earlier in the decade, they have not fallen much, Mansfield home sales were down slightly in January, but prices increased slightly. Projections for 2012 are for prices to increase 5.7%. January home sales increased 14% overall in North Texas, and the inventory of avaialble homes has declined by 23% in the past year, creating relative shortages in some neighborhoods.

The average price of a home sold in Mansfield was $197,500 in December, 20% higher than 2010.Typical selling prices are between $125,000 - 400,000, with an average of around $200,000, Interest rates remain at near historic lows of 4.0% for a 30 year loan, 3.25% or less for a 15 year term.
