No news yet on the extention of the $8000 grant money, however the one good thing that did happen is they passed it to be extended for Military and a couple of other groups, which mean it is looking good for everyone. I will keep you updated as I know more. Be sure to ask your lender about any programs as well. The market has seen some signs of recovery, however I think for the next year we will still see it slower than in the past and home prices still lower. The market has seen some signs of recovery, however I think for the next year we will still see it slower than in the past and home prices still lower. The average sales price remains lower than in the past and is around $224,,000 with an average of 90-95 days on the market. The Layton East Bench is still demanding higher prices, although down from the past year. Layton is a great area for buyers and the price of homes is still a great value. Even with the numbers falling slightly Mortgage rates continue to be at a all time low. With the new tax credits, there could not be a better time to buy. Between low interest rates, the $8000 Stimulus Package, Home Run Grant 2 and homes listed at such great values, now is the time to buy. You need to remember that this is still a good market, compared to what we are seeing throughout the Nation. The impact of the major bailout by the Government of the Financial Institutions and other major players in the market have raised concerned over the economy and Real Estate Market. Utah still remains to be one the most desired places to live and buyers are still coming to the area, due to a lot of major corporations relocating their companies here. Jobs are good and the pay rate is good as well. Layton is still a very desired area along the Wasatch Front and remains a popular location due to its proximity to Salt Lake and Ogden. Call me for additional information on any areas through-out Utah. I would love to help you find the perfect place to live in our beautiful State. ZIP Codes: 84040, 84041

Approximate Location Boundaries: Located between Ogden and Salt Lake

Location Characteristics: Layton has quickly become one of the fastest growing areas within the Wasatch Front. From the many Restaurants that have been building in the area, commercial stores just keep bringing new shopping outlets, movie theaters, and lots of new homes to the area. The new conference center has certainly had an impact on the city, and its continued efforts to make Layton the desired community is showing. From parks with ponds, playgrounds, shopping and the close proximity to Ogden and Salt Lake City as well as Hill Air Force Base, this is definitely a place where new residents are looking when choosing their new home. Layton offers something for everyone when it comes to the price of homes in the area.
