Within the last month, 64 single-family detached homes, 16 duplexes/townhouses, and 103 condos have changed hands in Arlington. Closing prices for detached homes ranged from $189,900 for tear-down foreclosure to $1,884,000 for a brand new 5 bedroom, 5 ½ bathroom home. Closing prices for duplexes and townhouses ranged from $229,900 for a 1,200 square-foot, 2 bedroom, 1 bath duplex to $1 million for a 3,400 square-foot, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath luxury townhouse in Ballston. Closing prices for condos ranged from $100,000 for a 546 square-foot, studio to $895,000 for a 2,512 square-foot, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom condo.

Location Characteristics: Arlington is located directly across the Potomac River from Washington D.C. The county is comprised of unique neighborhoods, giving the area a strong sense of community. Approximately 200,000 people live in Arlington. Many residents are active in their communities, with more than 50 civic associations and 100 community service organizations. Most properties are situated within a short walk of the county's many public parks, playgrounds, community centers, and biking and jogging trails. Arlington's close-in location is easily accessible by car and public transportation to downtown Washington DC. Within the last ten years, the whole area has transformed and is now booming with business, restaurants, nightlife, and recreational activities.
