In Athens and the five county region there has been a decrease in residential units sold of approximately 9.59% from 1/1/2011 to 8/27/2011 over the same time in 2010. Foreclosures and short sales are in demand. Many sellers are renting their homes... MORE->

The local market remains soft and prices are still slightly dropping, However, we have seen some stabilization in the local market and a fair increase in activity from buyers. This has lead to an increase in sales but will remain far below normal... MORE->

Compared to July 2006, Athens/Clarke County residential closings for the month of July have decreased approximately 66%. Since the expiration of the tax credit, qualified buyers are few and far between. It is a buyer's market! If you have a good job... MORE->
