Ohio Brokers Report Statewide Buyer's Market

Realtors in Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland report buyer's market with more interest from buyers picking up.

Columbus

"A stable economy here in central Ohio local has kept our local real estate market on an even keel," says Realtor Dan Gregor. "Ohio Association of Realtors statistics showed our market increasing for 2002 modestly in both activity and average sale price over 2001.

"Building activity has been strong throughout 2002," says Gregor, "spurred on by lower interest rates and numerous incentives and concessions by production builders. Buyers and sellers today will find both opportunities and difficulty in the marketplace today depending on the location and price range. Sellers who have owned their property for five years or more are the ones most likely to be in a position to take advantage of the current market conditions."

Cleveland

"Cleveland is a great place to live," says Realtor Chelley R. Hopson. "There are more buyers now than over the winter months. More buyers means that homes that were there in December may not be there this weekend. Make sure you see the homes as they come on the market, waiting could cost you that home."

Cincinnati

"Activity has picked up," says Realtor Dale Schmidt. "Out of town buyers are moving here at a consistent rate. Still a buyer's market - a good time to buy with very attractive interest rates."
