Eleanor Mowery-Sheets Named Coldwell-Bankers' Top Producer
by Blanche Evans
With over 2,400 offices throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, Coldwell-Banker Realtors has over 58,000 sales associates. One agent has risen like cream to the top,Eleanor Mowery-Sheets in Dallas, Texas. Susan Dunn Arnold, president of Coldwell Banker/Paula Stringer Realtors sums her star associate's performance in one statement, "Eleanor is the exception to every rule--she is the most focused and directed sales associate I have ever seen." Not only does Mrs. Sheets produce the highest volume of any agent in Dallas County, according to the Dallas Association of Realtors®, she is also the top producer for the state of Texas. Year-to-date, she has closed over $45 million in properties. According to figures confirmed by Coldwell-Banker/Paula Stringer, Realtors, she closes a home every four days or less, and closes within an average four percent of list price. Her listings are on the market an average of 86 days as opposed to the Dallas average of 150 days. More than 98% of her contracts close compared to the industry average of 75%. All new listings are appraised, square footage confirmed, and inspection completed before a sales price is determined. "This approach eliminates future problems and misunderstandings, reduces re-negotiations (and lost money) and answers questions early on so the seller knows with confidence that the price is right based on known facts. Listings sell at higher prices, closer to asking price and faster than normal," explains Eleanor. Mrs. Sheets works in partnership with her husband, Nicky Sheets, who brings corporate structure to the team effort. As a technology and marketing expert, he encouraged his wife to embrace all forms of technology early in her career, including marketing her services on the Internet. Since joining his wife in 1992, Nicky has been instrumental in escalating Eleanor's production, which has increased from $14 million annually in the early 90's to an estimated $60 million by the end of 1997. Today, Eleanor Mowery-Sheets is a corporation with departmentalized specialization supported by a team of professionals in marketing, promotion, contract deadlines, inspections, working with title companies and lenders, ordering and distributing signs and a myriad of other services. Eleanor enjoys the face-to-face aspects of real estate, showing, listing and negotiating homes while Nicky oversees the business. Eleanor is credited with a number of strengths, including the ability to network with other top producers nationwide. She is known throughout the industry as a powerful speaker whose challenging rise from a single parent to one of the most lauded, well-known real estate professionals in the country is a source of inspiration for many. She shares her views and tips with the characteristic candor and is widely credited with raising the bar of professionalism in Dallas' real estate industry as evidenced by the many agents who are now emulating her team approach. Unique amenities offered by the Sheets team include a direct phone number answered by Eleanor's staff, enabling clients and listings to be immediately serviced. During off hours, the lines are answered and calls are immediately forwarded electronically to members of the Sheets group. The caller speaks with one who knows each listing and qualifies the caller instantly. She also has a "moving " truck, emblazoned with her name and image on the side which is available for the asking by any charitable organization in need of assistance. Eleanor is in the Preston/Lovers Lane office of Coldwell Banker/Paula Stringer, Realtors and specializes in the Park Cities, Preston Hollow, North Dallas, and Plano areas of Dallas and Collin Counties.
