The Employee Relocation Council (ERC) announces new and nominated members for its 1999 Board of Directors.
Service industry representatives Kevin E. Rich, SCRP, executive vice
president, Clark & Reid; Charles G. (Chip) Roach, Jr., CRP, vice-chairman,
Fox & Roach Realtors; and Kevin Russell, CRP, senior vice president, client
relations and sales, Cendant Mortgage; were recently appointed to the
Employee Relocation Council's Board of Directors, effective January 1, 1999.
Service industry representation on ERC's board is a relatively recent
development. The Council's former all-corporate board voted in 1995 to open
board representation to the service industry, and implemented the expansion
in January 1996.
David Barlow, Jr., manager, relocation for Chevron Corporation; May Caffi,
SCRP, director, relocation services for Marriott International, Inc.; and
Kitty Gardner, CRP, relocation manager for Citgo Petroleum Corp. are
candidates for the 1999 Board, pending approval of their nominations.
All new board terms are for a period of three years. ERC board member
responsibilities for the organization include addressing association policy,
bylaws, and ethics issues; reviewing the Council's activities, events, and
budget; assisting in the planning and development of ERC educational
programs and publications; and contributing to and fulfilling the
organization's strategic plan for the "greater good" of the entire ERC
membership.
Formed in 1964, ERC is a nonprofit professional membership organization
committed to the effective relocation of employees worldwide. ERC's current
membership includes corporations and government and military agencies that
relocate their employees, as well as nearly 11,000 individuals and companies
from the relocation industry including real estate appraisers and brokers,
area and personal counseling services, consulting services, home inspection
companies, household goods movers, mortgage services, national home purchase
firms, and a variety of other relocation-related services.
The Council's programs and publications help relocation professionals
continually increase their expertise in relocation issues, and allow
corporations (and the companies and individuals that provide services to
them) to communicate more effectively and to conduct transfers more
efficiently.
