Celebrity Report: The "Fonz" goes to Brentwood

Henry "The Fonz" Winkler, is making a comeback on the big screen, but that doesn't mean he necessarily wants a bigger home. Winkler and his wife Stacey have sold their 9,000 sq.ft Bel-Air home and have purchased a Brentwood property for close to $2.7 million with about 3,600 sq. ft. As the slick-haired, leather-jacketed "Fonz" on the '70s series "Happy Days," Winkler became a household word. He later parlayed that fame into a producing and directing career, and served as executive producer for the television series "MacGyver." Winkler co-stars with Adam Sandler in the soon to be released feature comedy "The Water Boy."

Richard Dean Anderson, the perpetually youthful star of the '80s television series "MacGyver" is currently starring in Showtime's "Stargate SG-1," a science fiction series based on the 1994 motion picture "Stargate" starring Kurt Russell. He has just purchased a home in Malibu for about $2 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. The home has about 3,800 square feet, a detached guest house, tennis court and access to the beach.

The Debbie Reynolds Hotel and Casino goes to auction Wednesday. The star of such memorable movie musicals as "Singing in the Rain" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" had purchased the Las Vegas property in 1992 and spent millions remodeling it, but could not turn a profit. But America's sweetheart is unsinkable and has survived other storms, including the breakup of her marriage to Eddie Fisher over Elizabeth Taylor in the late 1950s. Daughter Carrie Fisher of "Star Wars" fame, and also a highly acclaimed novelist and screen writer is providing moral support.

Beverly Hills is on a teardown spree with multimillion dollar properties being demolished to make way for new homes. The most recent home to bite the dust was the former home of Jimmy Stewart, of "It's a Wonderful Life" fame. The home was recently sold for $5.6 million and the new owner plans an Italian-style villa twice the proportions of the Stewart home.
