Long term Treasury bond yields bounced up off their record lows on Monday while stocks were mixed.
The 30 year fixed rate average dropped to 6.79%. The 15 year fixed rate and 1 year ARM were unchanged at 6.50% and 5.60% respectively.
The yield on the benchmark 30 year Treasury bond rose to 5.46%, up 3 basis points from the record low 5.43% set on Friday. Yields on shorter maturity Treasuries fell.
Blue chip stocks were higher, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 32.96 points. Many broader averages were down, however, including the NASDAQ composite average which closed down just under 7 points.
