Continuing Education Via Live Satellite

Four hours of continuing education (CE) credit (three hours in Illinois) will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the course entitled "Environmental Issues: What to Know, What to Do," with nationally acclaimed expert and instructor, Marie Spodek. Any agent, regardless of affiliation can attend - via satellite, that is.

The course will be broadcast live via RE/MAX Satellite Network (RSN) on Tuesday, December 15, 1998 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) and is expected to draw the largest live audience for a CE course ever recorded in industry history. Twenty-two state licensing authorities have approved this first ever live satellite broadcast course for CE credit. A fee of $45 will be charged all participants.

"In addition to the valuable information in this course offering, it is a tremendous time and money saving opportunity for licensed agents seeking CE units to apply to license renewals," commented Karin O'Callaghan, RSN Program Manager. "We were the first to deliver CE courses via satellite and have been offering them on RSN for a year. Agents always comment on how much more convenient it is to eliminate travel, hotel, meal and other costs in pursuing these credits. This is the first course to receive approval in so many states and we are still awaiting approval from several more. Beginning in 1999, RSN plans to offer two live courses a year with up to 12 hours of CE credit available."

The course broadcast is open to all licensed real estate agents and can only be viewed in participating RE/MAX offices* which receive RE/MAX Satellite Network (RSN). Those interested in taking part should contact a local RE/MAX office, or RE/MAX Satellite Network for the nearest RE/MAX location.

States which have already approved the course are: Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana*, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming. Approval is pending in 10 other states.

* For approved locations in Indiana, call RSN at 303-796-3840.
