Celebrity Report: Jodie Foster Says Condo No More
by Blanche Evans
Jodie Foster has no further use for the home she has lived in off and on since she was a first-year, free-wheeling student at Yale University in 1980. The Oscar-winning actress has listed her Woodland Hills condo at $219,000 with Kay Cole of Coldwell Banker-Jon Douglas, Woodland Hills. The definitely not-for-a-growing-family-sized condominium features two bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths and approximately 1,300 square feet. The contempory decor showcases two fireplaces, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room. Foster is a two-time Academy Award winner in the Best Actress category. She portrayed a rape victim in "The Accused" (1988) and an FBI investigator in "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991). She and Lambs co-star Anthony Hopkins who played the serial killer Hannibal Lecter are planned to reprise their roles in an upcoming sequel. The owner of several homes in the Los Angeles area, Foster now resides in another of her properties. Barbara Mandrell's Empty Nest The six-bedroom, 13-bath estate on approximately 141 acres in Whites Creek, Tennessee known as Fontanel, is being put on the market by country western entertainer and television personality Barbara Mandrell. The largest private log cabin in existence at 27,000 square feet, has grown to seem empty after her three children have grown up and moved out. Offered at $7.5 million the estate includes a heated indoor swimming pool, a rifle range, over 46 phone outlets, a helicopter landing pad and three guest houses. Ms. Mandrell is building a cozier home (10,000 square feet) near the estate. Published: September 2, 1998 Use of this article without permission is a violation of federal copyright laws.
