Jimmy Buffett Turns in the Keys

Jimmy Buffett, a one-man tourist attraction for Florida's Key West is leaving the area for good. Last week's Hurricane Georges was apparently too late to encourage Buffett to reconsider. Like most good parents, Buffett made his decision to move based on his three children's education. He and his family have already purchased a home in Palm Beach. The new buyers of his property are local heroes in their own right. Steve Chapman and Tom duPont are publishers of Tampa Bay area upscale magazines. Mr. Chapman was quoted as saying,"The important thng is for us to just preserve it the way Buffett left it - just think of the music that he may have written there. Someday the estate will be similiar to Ernest Hemingway's home."

A Little Piece of History

If you haven't had your fill of the soap operatic Clinton scandals, you can buy yourself a little piece Whitewater history. A New Mexico real estate agent, Carey Carpenter is selling "micro-acres" of land located next door to the infamous Whitewater porperty on his Web site for $19.95 a share. Included is a certifiable suitable for framing copy of your deed.

The scandalously low price is strictly to pay homage to the "ridiculously LOW prices that politicians like to give themselves."

Located high in the Ozark Mountains, the micro-acres are part of the back country of the 800-acre Eagles Nest ranch, which the owner purchased in 1968, never realizing the gold mine he was sitting upon. To find your little slice of scandal heaven, drive to Flippin, Arkansas and ask for directions. Orders are taken on the Web site.

Jason Priestley Chooses Los Feliz Over "90210"

Better known to some as Brandon Walsh on "Beverly Hills 90210," Jason Priestley has just purchased a home in Los Feliz for about $1.7 million. The 3,800-square-foot house was built in 1929 and boasts a pools, spa and views.

In his ninth year on the show, Priestley has directed numerous episodes of the show, a music video, and has also starred in motion pictures. He will be featuared in the upcoming "Eye of the Beholder" starring hot stars Ewan McGregor, Ashley Judd and k.d.lang.

Priestley will continue to maintain an apartment in Vancouver where his family lives.
