Two high profile homes have been introduced to the market in the exclusive gated community of Beverly Park in Beverly Hills, California.
Son of legendary movie producer Darryl F. Zanuck, Richard D. Zanuck and his wife, Lili Fini Zanuck, successful producers in their own right, have put their Beverly Park estate on the market for approximately $20 million. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, an edited list of brokers and their clients were invited to view the Georgian-style home. The property includes four acres of land, with a main house of approximately 11,600 square feet, two guest houses, a swimming pool, tennis court, and a screening room.
Included in the Zanuck's credits are movies such as "The Sting" starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford, and Steven Spielberg's directorial triumph, "Jaws." The couple produced "Driving Miss Daisy" which won the Academy Award for "Best Picture" in 1990 and catapulted longtime and deserving professionals Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman into leading role stature.
As reported earlier in Celebrity Report, "Magic" Johnson has put his 16,000-square-foot Mediterranean style home on the market. Situated on two acres, the nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom property is offered at $7,932,000. His reason for selling is find a home with more acreage.
The Blue Angel's Apartment Sells
The four-room New York penthouse once owned by sultry, heavy-lidded and ageless actress Marlene Dietrich has recently sold for approximately $625,000. Miss Dietrich's estate sold the property, which had originally listed at $1 million. Miss Dietrich, who was at the height of her fame during World War II, is being re-introduced to new generations by an automobile manufacturer who is using her husky-voiced recording of "Falling in Love Again" to sell its cars on TV.
The Malibu Castle Hits the Market
A Malibu home built by its owners with man-made materials to resemble a 13th century Scottish castle has been sold for slightly more than $3 million to New York socialite Lilly Lawrence. The house has had a spotty listing record, off and on the market since 1981, and was most recently listed for $5.75 million.
Mrs. Lawrence plans to renovate the five-bedroom 6,200-square-foot home to give it an even more authentic and elegant appearance.
Over the years, the house has been used as a film location for a number of TV projects including "Fantasy Island" and "The Rockford Files" with James Garner.
