David Rea, RE/MAX International creative director was honored at the 1998 Aurora Awards for television advertising. Honored for overall excellence with Gold Awards were three television commercials, "Bubble," "Shadow," and "Race," from the 1998 RE/MAX "Real Estate Leaders" campaign, all written
and produced by Rea. A Gold Award for music also went to the production "Shadow." Last year, Rea and his RE/MAX productions won three Gold Aurora Awards and one Platinum Best of Show Award.
The Aurora Awards, named after the colorful Northern Lights, is a national competition designed to recognize excellence in the film and video industries. Competitors represent private and corporate production groups, advertising agencies and television stations throughout the country.
Only one in ten entries receives Best of Show, the highest honor given, while about two out of ten nominees receive the Gold Award, according to the Aurora Awards company, based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Panels of previous award winners who are working film and video professionals, such as writers, producers and directors from across the country, serve as judges in the annual competition.
