Cookie Magnate Debbi Fields Markets Luxury Ranch Estate
They like down home cooking and baking in Memphis, Tennessee. That's where cookie executive Debbi Fields has moved, after putting her Salt Lake City home up for sale. Listed at $7 million by Lewis, Wolcott & Dornbush Real Estate of Park City, the 16,000-square-foot ranch style home is located in Woodland, Utah. The property features nine bedrooms, an indoor swimming pool, tennis court, 23-stall horse barn, and is situated on 100 acres. An adjoining 185 acres is available for sale for an additional $3 million. Tony, Tony, Tony. The perennial one-named hack Tony Danza, of Taxi and Who’s the Boss? fame, has been accused of bad behavior extending beyond his acting career. Kevin Jacobson of Nevada has filed a $2 million suit against the actor in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming breach of contract, fraud, negligence and mental anguish over a botched commercial real estate deal. It seems Danza had a grand plan to build the Danza Sports and Entertainment Center. There testosterone-gifted males like Tony himself could shop at the ESPN Store or pump up at the gym. According to Jacobson’s filing, Danza asked real estate developer Jacobson to help him find a tract of land for the project in Nevada. Jacobson did a little land-hunting and pointed Danza toward a 30-acre piece of property in Henderson, Nev., which the actor subsequently bought, according to the lawsuit.0 Despite Jacobson’s success at holding up his end of the bargain, he never received the agreed-upon $150,000 finder’s fee, court papers say. But perhaps the greatest mystery is why the land was purchased, yet development was never undertaken. Maybe in the end, Mr. Banta couldn’t face getting back in the ring. Hamlet Finishes Six Month Lease Classical Actor/director Kenneth Branagh, of "Hamlet," "Dead Again," and "Othello" fame has just left his leased Bel-Air home where he stayed while filming a new screen version of "The Wild Wild West." The leased 4,500-square-foot country -style home came with three bedrooms, a gym, a pool and a golf course view. Dr. Welby's Home Offered for Sale Known for his kindly, fatherly roles on popular TV series such as "Father Knows Best and "Marcus Welby, M.D., " the late actor Robert Young, who passed away in July at the age of 91, lived in a home as enchanting as his on-screen abodes. Introduced to the market at $850,000, the Westlake Village home was called "The Enchanted Cottage," named after a movie in which Mr. Young starred in 1945. Built in 1974, the 3,500-square-foot home offers four bedrooms, a pool with a pool house, spa, bar and magnificent views of the valley. Mr. Young actively participated in the design of the home to maximize the views. Listed by Jay Belson and Tom Otero of RE/MAX on the Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, the home is adjoined by a vacant lot that the Youngs purchased to assure their privacy, and it is expected to be sold at a later date. Falcon Lair Sold to Florida Architect The home built for silent screen legend Rudolph Valentino known as Falcon Lair has been recently purchased by a Florida architect who plans on spending $1 million to refurbish the Spanish-style home. Keith Cox, of Coldwell Banker-Jon Douglas Co, Beverly Hills was the selling agent. The home features painted stucco walls, a library-music room, servants quarters, a guest suite, and panoramic views that sweep across the city to the ocean. Most recently, the home was owned by Doris Duke, the late tobacco heiress, who died under a cloud of mystery as unsubstantiated reports spread the rumor that she had been killed for her money by a trusted butler.
