Champ De La Hoya Knocking Out Walls

If you make your living getting your brains beaten in, you'd better live the high life while you can still find your way around your own house.

That's what boxer Oscar De La Hoya is doing. The 25-year-old welterweight champion is knocking out walls in the 11,000 square-foot Bel Air home he bought about a year ago for $3.9 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The home's eight bedrooms are not being greatly affected by the renovation. But the contemporary home's living and entertainment areas will be made over.

And talk about a young man with some style. The boxer already has a swimming pool and a tennis court.

Now his lucky young friends will enjoy a 20-foo bar for ice cream and beer, a 3,000 cigar humidor, a wine room with a controlled environment, and a screening room with three screens.

Don't get on the champ's bad side. Not only could he knock you down the length of his 23-foot-long dining room (complete with hand-painted fresco), but also he could throw you into his new acquarium filled with "aggressive" fish.

Ow, that hurt!

By the way, Oscar, I know a young gossip columnist who just loves swimming, ice cream, and good wine. I'll take good care of the place while you're in Mexico for your next fight.
