San Francisco, CA -- February 25, 1999 -- Owners.com, America's largest national real estate service of homes for sale by-owner (FSBO), announced today that it has named Dr. Gilbert Amelio to its Board of Directors. The announcement comes after a series of major accomplishments, including the re-launch of the industry-leading Owners.com service in January.

Dr. Amelio has achieved a string of business, scientific and technological successes during his three decades of technology and business leadership, including the successful turnaround of one Fortune 50 company. He served as chairman and CEO of Apple Computer (Nasdaq: AAPL) from February 1996 to July 1997. Prior to joining Apple, he was chairman, president and CEO of National Semiconductor (NYSE: NSM), and before that , president of Rockwell Communications Systems. Dr. Amelio began his career with Bell Laboratories in 1968, and currently holds 16 patents alone or jointly. Dr. Amelio is an IEEE Fellow, has served as a director of the Semiconductor Industry Association and as its chairman for two years, and serves on the board of governors of the Electronics Industries Association. In addition, he is also a member of the executive committee of the Business and Higher Education Forum.
