Real estate companies go on-line to vie for buyers and sellers, so perhaps
it was only a matter of time before someone raised the bar to include using the
Net to vie for agents. A new site, www.agent-tells-all.com, is the first
comprehensive web site devoted entirely to discussing the benefits of working
within a particular real estate firm.
Created by RE/MAX Agent, Elaine
Shreiber, the site is not affiliated with RE/MAX International, nor is it
officially a recruiting site.
As a twenty-year veteran with RE/MAX, Shreiber has plenty to say about the
company. The site avows that the opinions expressed are solely hers, and
further claims that she is not paid by anyone associated with the company to
recruit. Even so, it's hard to imagine a more effective on-line recruiting tool.
"I am putting up this site because I really believe RE/MAX is a great
company that has been very good to me over the years, and I want to share my
opinion with others," says Shreiber. " I primarily get the satisfaction of knowing I am the first person (maybe in the world?) to utilize the Internet in this fashion."
The site is built around three proprietary print books created by Shreiber.
Ask Me Why I'm Smiling explains why an agent would leave another company
to join RE/MAX; Lift Off, details how new recruits may assimilate into RE/MAX by learning from other RE/MAX Agents; and ME, INC. illustrates how to run a RE/MAX "practice" that might be sold. All books are available free on-line.
"For me, RE/MAX has always been an amazing place to work." says Shreiber. "This
site is my chance to say 'thank you' to the company for all the years of fun
and profitability it gave me. RE/MAX has been very supportive. However, please remember that the site is NOT a part of International, nor any particular RE/MAX office."
A vast number of RE/MAX Offices are going to be saying "thank you" to Shreiber,
as they rush to link this value-added and free resource to their home pages.
