Technology Training Offered at NAR

Stewart Title is sponsoring the Technology Learning Center at the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) National Conference and Expo being held Nov. 10 - 13, 2000 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. This marks the second year that the Stewart-sponsored Technology Learning Center has been offered to the conference's 23,000 registrants.

The goal of the center is to provide REALTORS® with hands-on training that will position them on the cutting-edge of technology and help them become more successful in the marketplace.

Number of Course Offerings Triple in 2000 The popularity of the center at last year's conference resulted in expansion into three separate training rooms this year with three times as many course offerings. Each room is hosted by one of the event's co-sponsors - Stewart Title, TEGRIS and WebSuite.com, Inc., representing e-PRO.

Training Topics The Stewart training room will have 50 computers, providing interactive instruction to a total of 1,600 students over the four-day period. Stewart is offering 16 one-and-one-half-hour courses covering eight different topics. Each topic will be presented twice during the conference to give REALTORS® more flexibility in scheduling their course attendance.

Stewart will offer the following courses:

  • Build it ... and They Will Come - how to capture buyers and sellers with a winning web design. Instructor: Craig K. Manning, Digital Imagination.
  • A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words - how to add flash to your presentations with digital photography. Instructor: Court Johnson, Stewart Title.
  • The Electronic Pony Express - learn how electronic mail can add momentum to your mass marketing efforts. Instructor: Scott Patten, REALNET Learning Services.
  • The Sky's the Limit - web fundamentals and on-line real estate tools that will help you increase sales. Instructor: Terry Thomason, Stewart Title.
  • The Mighty Mini - how to market with the mini-CD. Instructor: Court Johnson, Stewart Title.
  • Get the BIG Picture - using self-created virtual tours to increase business. Instructor: J. L. Winn, VisualTour.com.
  • Point and Sell - learn how Microsoft® PowerPoint® can add new dimension to the listing presentation. Instructor: Scott Patten, REALNET Learning Services.
  • Getting In Sync - Simple Clicks to Virtual Organization - file management and virtual office tips to organize the REALTOR®. Instructor: Terry Thomason, Stewart Title.

In a separate training room, TEGRIS will concentrate on training for mobile devices. In the third room, WebSuite.com is representing e-PRO, the new Internet Certification program sponsored by the National Association of REALTORS®. Attendees wishing to sample the e-PRO courseware, which was designed to help real estate professionals thrive in the world of on-line real estate, can choose from approximately 20 lessons.

With expanded course offerings and increased training room space, the Technology Learning Center will be able to educate more than 5,000 attending REALTORS®. The training sessions will run concurrently with other scheduled events throughout the event. Attendees should visit the Technology Learning Center upon arrival at the show for a schedule of available courses and times.
