MarketLinx Converts Two MLSs, Signs Four More
MarketLinx Solutions, a Knoxville-based software company that pioneered the development of open architecture MLS systems based on Internet browser technology, has completed the conversion of two MLS boards to stand-alone Tempo™ MLS software systems. The Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors and the MLS of Jackson both converted in early January of 2001. MarketLinx now has stand-alone operating systems with boards ranging in size from 1,400 to 7,300. All of MarketLinx’ MLS installations to date have been completed on or ahead of schedule.

MarketLinx has also signed four new contracts with the following MLS organizations: Sandicor, Triad MLS, Map MLS, and Triangle MLS. TEMPO™ provides real estate agents with an easy to use MLS that is integrated with resources on the Internet and positioned to take advantage of the information revolution in the real estate industry.

Sandicor, based in San Diego is one of the largest MLS’s with over 11,000 users. According to President and CEO, John Holley, “Our members are in one of the hottest real estate markets in the country and we needed a system that was proven and complete, but also easy for our members to learn and use. MarketLinx’ TEMPO™ software clearly met these requirements. The quality and continuity of their staff was also very important to us.”

Map Multiple Listing Service, a Broker-owned data aggregator, serving the Greater Chicago area since 1956 has approximately 5,000 subscribers. “We were looking for a true business partner that could help us implement new technology, designed to promote the Broker’s ability to take control of their data, in addition to providing MLS features unique to our market”, said Bud Fogel, the CEO of MAP, “but more importantly, we wanted a partner that had already proven that they could successfully deliver a complete browser based system for a large MLS.”

Triad MLS covers the 11-county Piedmont Triad area in North Carolina including Greensboro, High Point, Thomasville and Winston-Salem. According to Darrin Edwards, the Executive Vice President of TRIAD, “We were looking for a browser based MLS system that was proven and in use by a large MLS in a stand-alone environment. We took a hard look at many of the industry leaders and it quickly became clear who had a real system working today and who was still trying to prove themselves. MarketLinx’ TEMPO™ software was fast, accurate, reliable, scalable and most important, has been in actual use by some pretty large boards for some time.”

Triangle MLS, serves the research triangle area of North Carolina including Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. “We have watched MarketLinx grow since before they started up their first MLS system,” said Ray Larcher, President and CEO of Triangle. “MarketLinx has been very successful in the marketplace and we were impressed by the way that company leaders effectively managed growth. It also has been very important to us that we have consistently dealt with the same people at MarketLinx over this time.”

MarketLinx began operating as a privately held company in 1996. Having launched the country’s first successful stand-alone, browser-based system for a major Multiple Listing Service in 1997, MarketLinx is building on its experience as the developer of TEMPO™ software.
