Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc,
(MRISÒ ) recently raised $4,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society by
participating in the MS Walk in Frederick, Maryland on Sunday, April 22, 2001.
More than 30 MRIS employees and their families and friends participated in the
MS Walk. The Multiple Sclerosis society offers general information on the
disease as well as referrals, counseling, assistance with employment concerns
and more.
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central
nervous system. Symptoms may include fatigue, numbness in the limbs, impaired
balance, speech problems, and blurred or double vision. Most people with MS are
diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40 although onset may be earlier or later.
MRIS operates one of the country's largest online real estate networks for
28,000 licensed agents, brokers and appraisers. MRIS is headquartered in
Rockville, Maryland and employs 110 people. More than 30,000 homes have been
sold through MRIS in 2001.
