Prudential Referral
Services (PRS), a division of The Prudential Real Estate Affiliates
Inc., has announced an alliance with H&R Block Mortgage Corp. (HRBM)
to handle its pre-approved, first-time and move-up homebuyer clients'
home shopping services.
This new alliance benefits H&R Block's first-time and move-up
homebuyer clients by delivering unique real estate consultative
services, led by PRS's real estate homebuying counselors. PRS
homebuying counselors will help consumers better understand what to
expect during the process of buying a home. In addition, the
first-time and move-up homebuyers will then be referred to a
Prudential Real Estate Network professional that best meets their
needs.
The counseled clients receive assessments of their needs,
education about the real estate market and transaction process,
explanations of what to expect, and a referral to licensed real estate
professionals who fit their specific needs. At all times, the consumer
can reach out to the PRS homebuying counselor and gather additional
information.
In addition, homebuyers may also receive benefits such as a
one-year home warranty, discounts on Van Lines Express, legal
referrals and flooring services.(1)
This alliance between Prudential Referral Services and H&R Block
Mortgage applies to the U.S., and will continue to roll out over the
coming months.
H&R Block Mortgage originated 6,700 loans in fiscal 1999-2000,
totaling nearly $1 billion dollars. With headquarters in Burlington,
Mass., the company employs nearly 500 people nationwide. A direct
subsidiary of Option One Mortgage Corp., H&R Block Mortgage originates
loans through H&R Block Financial Centers, retail branch offices, and
regional processing centers nationwide. The company also offers its
products and services online at www.hrblock.com.
