In appreciation and acknowledgment of
the vital role teachers play in the community, Prudential California
Realty's (PCR) Education Foundation has awarded grants to 67 Bay Area
teachers for outstanding achievement. The grants totaled $43,550 for
this year’s recipients.
Founded in 1992 and inspired by Dave Cobo, PCR’s Chief Executive Officer
and a former educator himself, the Education Foundation has awarded
more than $300,000 in grants to 529 exceptional teachers since its
inception.
These grants do not come from corporate funds, but directly from the
personal donations of the owners, managers, agents, and staff of PCR as
a way of acknowledging and thanking local teachers in their communities.
Each year, grants are awarded to teachers who have been selected through
an intense nomination process by peers, principals, students or other
teachers. Grant amounts this year were $650 for each recipient.
