Cybertips: Database Search Magic

Need to do a search? Searchsystems.net is the biggest free database of powerful information for real estate owners, investors or agents I've yet to find on the Web. In the spirit of keeping you up to date with the latest and greatest I revisited this magical place and found that these folks just made this free service even more useful by adding the magic of the Google site search function, making this well-organized free aggregation of over 4000 databases even more useful!

Now you can track down those assessors’ maps in Los Angeles, the state government phone directory in Montana and tons of other useful database information with a lot more pinpoint ease!

Re-route your e-mail

Most of the time I try to concentrate on Internet tools that are free (Or at least free at press time!). Occasionally a service that has a modest cost attached stands out and warrants mention. Re-route.com is one of those.

These clever folks have come up with a way to redirect your e-mail when you are changing Internet Service Providers and have to change your e-mail address. Their service forwards messages sent to your old address to your new address providing a smooth transition from one ISP to another.

When they forward a message to your new address, they also deliver a message to the original sender explaining that the message was forwarded. With your permission, they also include your new e-mail address to inform your contacts of your new address.

This service becomes particularly valuable when you change from an ISP that does not provide forwarding services. And the good news is - it works for AOL accounts!

e-Mail on the go with ease

Feel tied to your laptop when you're mobile? Mail2web.com offers a way to move about the city or the planet and handle your e-mail without worrying about the weight or safety of your equipment!

Unlike other services like Hotmail or Yahoo these folks let you use your present e-mail account. You simply enter your e-mail address and password and access your inbox. You can then read, reply and forward your messages. You can even delete large attachments without first downloading them!

No need to register. Nothing to download. You can use this service anonymously. And the service is free! Great way to stay in touch and still travel light!

Books for Cybernaughts

Looking for up to the minute recommendations for the latest in real estate e-tools and information sources. The Real Estate CyberSpace Society constantly tracks down and evaluates this sort of information. One of their many on-line resources is the Society's On-line Bookstore.

The Society Bookstore contains dozens of recommendations and endorsements of important real estate cyberspace titles. You can check out what cybersavvy real estate pros are reading today in three Sections: “Technology & Internet”, “Real Estate and CyberSpace Strategies” and “Other Titles of Special Interest”. This on-line bookstore combines the cost saving and search power of Amazon.com with the cyber eagle eye of the Society’s real estate cyber pros! Great place for industry professionals, as well as homeowners and investors, to browse!
