Recognizing the overwhelming desire of its 205,000
members to help the victims of recent terrorist attacks in New York City,
Washington, D.C., and rural Pennsylvania, the National Association of Home
Builders (NAHB) has established the Home Builders Care Victims' Relief Fund
in conjunction with its philanthropic arm, the National Housing Endowment
(NHE).
NAHB will start the fund with an initial contribution of $250,000. The
National Housing Endowment's board has agreed to contribute an additional
$125,000. All of NAHB's 205,000 members will be encouraged to contribute by
writing checks to the Home Builders Care Victims' Relief Fund and submitting
their donations to their local home builders association (HBAs).
Contributions are being collected by NAHB's more than 800 HBA affiliates
across the country, or they may be sent directly to: The National Housing
Endowment, 1201 15th St., NW, Washington, D.C., 20005.
