The Real Estate Franchise Group of Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD) today
announced that Brenda W. Casserly has been appointed president of ERA Franchise
Systems, Inc. In her new role, she will be responsible for the management and
operation of one of the world’s leading real estate franchise networks. She
will retain her current title of chief operating officer.
Casserly succeeds former ERA® President Peter Burgdorff, who has been named
chairman of ERA Franchise Systems, Inc.
In 2000, Casserly was named chief operating officer for ERA, responsible for
day-to-day operations of the system’s array of products and services,
overseeing the brand’s service support, educational development, special
events, as well as awards and recognition programs. Prior to joining ERA in
1998, Casserly directed national services initiatives for other national real
estate franchise networks, where she also held various titles, including senior
vice president and chief operating officer. She is also the former operator of
a multi-office brokerage serving a tri-city area of Tennessee and Virginia.
At the same time, the Franchise Group welcomes Burgdorff as the new ERA
chairman. In his advisory role, he will provide strategic and operational
counsel to Group President and CEO Bob Moles and Real Estate Divisional
Chairman and CEO Richard A. Smith in support of ERA’s growth. “We’re glad to
have Peter continue to serve the ERA network in this capacity,” said Moles.
“With Brenda’s leadership, the value of the ERA brand will be enhanced both for
existing franchisees and those considering affiliation.”
