W.B. Freeman is bringing his wide breadth of expertise and experience in data management, REI consulting and real estate brokerage to Agent News as a contributing columnist beginning in July, 2002.
Freeman is possibly the most well-known man in the industry that you don't know, because his involvement has been primarily behind the scenes developing and implementing the background systems that enable real estate professionals to do their jobs better.
Among his many accomplishments, Freeman is the founding senior partner of Clareity Consulting, Ltd.., a consulting firm to some of the most prestigious MLSs in the country, including MLSNI, Metrolist, MRIS, and SoCal.
He has also served as the national manager of Real Estate Information Services for Norwest Mortgage, which is now Wells Fargo and held the same position with Landata, Inc./Stewart Title Company. He was also the director of online operations for Real Estate Data, Inc., (REDI).
Freeman is also founding chairman of the property information industry trade association, the REI Professionals Association. A popular speaker, Freeman has had repeated engagements with the National Association of Realtors, The Appraisal Institute, The Association for Title Information Management, and other associations and events.
Freeman serves as an independent consultant for property data developers as well as MLSs, property information vendors, application and support providers. His niche is product development and the sales of information-based companies.
Readers of Agent News can look forward to Freeman's series of articles for Realtors and service providers which will deal with power tools for the industry.
"I want to add my point of view to the qualified journalists of Realty Times," says Freeman. "When you put products together for companies to serve real estate professionals, it seems fitting to explain to those professionals what is being developed for them and why and what the results should be."
Says Realty Times president and founder Jody Lane, "I've been trying to get W.B. to write for Realty Times for over two years. We're expecting a unique and fascinating perspective from him that will benefit our readers greatly."
