Is working as a real estate professional stressful? The search for stress-reduction continues in many different areas and avenues including in-your-chair yoga exercises.
Recently a group of 150 students took part in a blood pressure reduction study in Augusta, GA. The study was funded by the American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health. It was conducted to determine if relaxation techniques could alleviate hypertension.
The students were taught Transcendental Meditation ™. They were instructed to meditate for 15 minutes every morning at school and for 15 minutes at home each night.
Many students exhibited a drop in blood pressure after four months of practicing the meditation techniques. Additionally the school observed a drop in student absenteeism and school suspensions.
Recently, with adult travelers in mind, JetBlue airways and Crunch fitness created an airplane yoga card to be placed in the seat-back pocket of all JetBlue flights. With witty text, lively graphics, and colorful illustrations, the card shows four easy-to-assume yoga positions designed to be done in the planes’ seats.

Choosing Values From Chris Alexander’s book Synergizing Your Business
"A value statement is the integrity declaration by the organization of the way it relates to its people, suppliers, and customers. It is the emotional driving force of success.
Once you have clearly defined your vision, the next step is to define your set of values. Along with your team, begin to discuss the core values that create a foundation of integrity. Build a work environment that creates relationships based on more than just the hourly wage.
Quality is a value. Customer service is a value. A fair workplace is a value. What are the values of your organization?
Here are some guidelines:
- Values are about the ethics of your business… the reasons why you want to do business.
- They must be clear and acceptable to your entire team.
- The organization must be able to live up to them
- They must be clearly displayed for everyone to see
- The leadership must be able to walk the talk. "
