Tampa Area Towns Report Seller's Market

Towns and planned communities in the Tampa Bay market are still in a seller's market, fueled by low interest rates and a great location, say local Realtors.

"The sale of homes in the Tampa Bay area of the State of Florida is very strong," says Realtor Tom Scaglione, "Homes that are priced properly and in good repair are selling in less than 30 days in most cases. Tampa Bay is a very desirable area of Florida to live in due to all the good jobs available, good infrastructure for all needs, and great weather. Tampa Bay has professional sports teams, performing arts centers, museums, and lots of other entertainment facilities."

Says Realtor Peter M. Radeka, "Upscale area of several Master Planned Communities with single family homes ranging from the low $100,000's to several million. The first quarter of 2003 has been very inconsistent. The whole world has been glued to the war in Iraq. I honestly feel that this has, in large part, been the reason for such an unpredictable real estate market. The war coupled with a continued weak economy, has kept a lot of folks (especially with corporate relos) on the fence.

There will be a little flurry for a couple weeks then things slow down. Then it picks back up and again tapers off.

With the impending end to the war, we are hopeful that the "pent up" demand will materialize into a very busy time. We will see.

If that happens, it's going to be a crazy Summer.

Plant City

"Plant City is a farm town that is also associated with light industry retail," says Realtor Billy Barlow. "Plant City is the 'Strawberry Capitol' of the world, and nestled in farm land along I-4, Plant City has easy access to Tampa, as well as Orlando.

He advises, "Plant City has been experiencing a sellers market for some time. People are relocating to Plant City and commuting to Tampa or Orlando. New homes sales are on the rise and resales are increasing in value."

Riverview

Say Realtors George and Sally Bodmer, " Riverview has a large number of new homes being built along the HWY 301 corridor. Many of the new communities feature play areas, nature areas, club houses, pools, etc."

They suggest, "This is one of the hot spots in the Tampa Bay market. Many opportunities to own new homes starting from the low $110s and upwards. Many varieties to choose from. Single family homes, townhomes, gated communities, and waterfront opportunities. This area of growth is minutes from downtown Tampa, Florida, interstate highways, and major shopping. Plus for the water enthusiast, there's nearby beaches, swimming and fishing, plus deep water for sail boats."
