"The real estate market is very strong right now it's still a buyer's market but people are getting market value," says Realtor Eric Moore. "It's just a matter of finding the right buyer. That's why it's so important to choose the right agent when buying or selling. You want an agent who is going to work hard to serve your real estate needs."

Suggests Realtor Bill Selby, "Charlotte is a banking and transportation center, with good medical facilities, a university and pleasant seasonal weather."

Selby explains, "Home sales in the Charlotte area are still setting records! Even with the rise in interest rates, many people are coming to Charlotte to live from New York and California. The reasons...home values, weather, retirement, great medical area, second largest financial center in the country, airport connections, etc. are all driving sales. New home sales are great as the wet weather kept builders from their summer schedules. Look for some great values on builder inventory as the end of the year approaches."

"The housing market continues to generate strong sales despite the uptick in interest rates," advises Realtor Jack Oudin. "It is most definitely a buyer's market. Sellers are having to make more concessions during the offer negotiating process and after the home inspection repair reports are completed. Sellers who are unwilling to negotiate and accept the advice of their agents risk losing the deal. Buyers realize there are too many alternative home choices in this market and don't want to deal with a difficult seller. In order for a listing to sell quickly in the Charlotte market, sellers need to make certain that their home is in showroom condition. All necessary repairs and known maintenance items should be completed ideally before putting the home on the market. At the very least, they should be completed prior to any home inspection to avoid having to make further price concessions."
